A full-length documentary directed by Susan Ray that premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2011, Don't Expect Too Much examines Nicholas Ray's bold experiments with multiple image, journalistic filmmaking, and the teaching of cinema undertaken in We Can't Go Home Again and the after-effects on its crew of that intense experiment in filmmaking 40 years later. The documentary includes behind-the-scenes footage from the set of We Can't Go Home Again and interviews with directors Victor Erice and Jim Jarmusch, many of the film's original cast and crew, and the last surviving cast member of Rebel Without a Cause.
